Lydia Lukidis Jewellery

LYDIA LUKIDIS is a Montreal based jewellery designer. Not only does she design unique creations, but she also makes the pieces herself. Every piece is hand crafted with love: she often employs the lost wax technique, and carves each piece in wax before getting it cast. She casts in sterling silver, gold, and platinum, and incorporates precious gems.

She began designing for her own label in 1999, and through sheer passion and dedication, has built a solid reputation within the fashion industry as her work became synonymous with original and avant-garde artistry.

Although her collections were distributed across Canada earlier on in her career, Lydia now focuses on custom design. She offers one of a kind pieces to a growing private clientele, who all enjoy this personalized touch. She designs everything from one of a kind diamond rings to pendants, and offers engagement rings and wedding bands, for both women and men.

In addition to that, she creates costume jewellery and specialty pieces such as beaded corsets and body pieces, which are used in movies, theatre and other exclusive events, such as Cirque du Soleil parties. She also designs and produces custom jewellery for a multitude of clients such as L'Oréal and Oil of Olay. Lastly, she has also given jewellery making courses and workshops at the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts and the Visual Arts Centre in Montreal.

Her work has been featured everywhere from fashion shows to television commercials to magazine editorials, and has made an appearance at numerous red carpet events such as the Grammy, Juno, and Billboard award galas. Lydia has also caught the attention of fashion editors and stylists of countless magazines and newspapers such as Elle Canada, The Gazette, Fashion, Eye Candy, Lou Lou, Clin d’Oeil, La Presse, and Mirror (Lukidis won as best local fashion designer in the Montreal Mirror’s “Best of Montreal” readers’ poll several times). Celebrity fans of her jewellery include Samantha Fox and Carmen Electra among others.

Artist’s Statement

“My vision consistently comes from a deeply spiritual place; my work seeks to encompass all that is divine and sacred, and explores the realm of the esoteric. My muses always include love, healing, nature, and sacred art. The Healing Crystals theme is continually explored. My fascination with crystals and stones has led me to research their therapeutic value and healing properties, and I often incorporate them within my work. Natural gems are traditionally believed to possess certain healing energies, and can affect a person's physical and emotional condition. In general, the intention behind my work aspires to empower, protect, and heal the person who wears it.”
